how to become a firefighter

A trained expert who is involved in rescuing people and their properties from fire accidents are called firefighters. Firefighting is a challenging and exciting job. The job involves courage and determination to save people. It is a career of sacrifice. Not every one chooses to become a firefighter because of the critical things involved in it. An individual must have complete control over him just to apply for the job. One can become a fire fighter if he satisfies the criteria’s set by the fire department. Good physique is very vital in the process. So one must train his body in a way that will suit the profession, one should check the check list before attending the interview and prepare for the interview. On selection, the candidate will be given training in fire fighting techniques. A fire fighter always has to carry ropes that are 30 feet long. Rope helps them to rescue them as well as the victims. There is a history of many firefighters who died just because of not using a rope. Some firefighters die due to vehicle accidents while returning from the accidents so always a first aid kit should be handy to treat the injured fighters. Firefighters wear a bright yellow reflective vest over their coats so that they are visible for rescue. Firefighters sometimes have to travel to long distances so they know to cook their food. They have long shifts and cannot leave the station for food. Most of the fire stations have a kitchen or lunch hall with some cooking appliances. Fighters take turns in cooking their meals. Sometimes they use their cooking skills for fund raising. A fighter has to travel in the caravan with all the loaded equipment loaded in it. He follows instructions of the senior officers in the operation. The caravan contains water to put the fire off the place. This is done based on the fire outbreak. Fire department has a unique number so that the people can contact them easily at any time.
